"Children of Dune" is de sequel op de serie "Dune". Het verhaal groeit en geeft meer uitleg over de mythe rondom het gezin Atreides. Er zijn twaalf jaar verstreken sinds Paul Maud'dib Atreides (Alec Newman) de in de woestijn levende Vrijmans opriep, een oorlog te beginnen tegen de laatste overblijfselen van het Oude Keizerrijk. In die twaalf jaar werden alle planeten stuk voor stuk gekoloniseerd en onder bevel gebracht van Maud'dib. Uit deze chaos verrees het Huis Atreides als de grote machthebber op de dorre planeet Arrakis. Maar het keizerlijke regime is niet almachtig. De grote vijand, baron Harkonnen (Ian McNeice), probeert nog altijd de macht over Dune en zijn mysterieuze levenskracht te heroveren.
