Chase Cortland Erwin

Chase Cortland Erwin finds his heritage in the heart of the Midwest. Born and raised in Indiana, Chase has been fascinated with story and place from early childhood. The seemingly simple setting of America’s heartland allowed for the careful observation of human will and complexity that informs Chase’s approach to acting. After graduating from Indiana University–Bloomington with a degree in political science, Chase moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. He completed the One Year Acting Conservatory at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. While studying at Strasberg, Chase was exposed to a disciplined training that pursues what Stanislavski called “perezhivanie” or “living the part.” He discovered the value of an actor calling on their own experiences to fill the subtle and modest moments that give a performance integrity. Chase has starred in several short films and aims to continue to apply his training to projects in Television and Film. He has participated in several theatre projects, most recently Shakespeare Downtown’s production of Macbeth, directed by veteran actors Geoffrey Horne and Alec Baldwin.
